A bedroom makeover III

I am loving the process of gathering things together for the boys bedroom makeover.

I've never sat down to really think through a room and consider each piece before.

It's seriously fun.

And seriously takes up a lot of my online time.

Thought I would share some of the pictures from my inspiration file, cause everybody likes a little bit of inspiration.

My Place and Yours.

I've decided to join in with Hello Owl for My Place and Yours.

This weeks theme is 'W'.

I couldn't really think of anything except for the lovely White furniture in Kayla's room.

I loved her cot for months before we bought and was so excited to set it up.

Her draws were an ugly op shop find sanded back and painted to transform into perfection (if I do say so myself)

Bitten...

Every so often, more often then is necessary I get bitten by the bug.

I'm sure you know the one.

The I'm so unsatisfied with my house bug.

I just want to rearrange and fix things.

It's incredibly frustrating. 

Right now my obsession is art for the blank wall in my lounge.

I want something big and cheap.

Google here I come.

Sew Fun.

This past week I decided to man up and clean out the bomb site that was my walk in robe. 

So embarrassing to put these up, but you have to understand how disgusting it was.

It was worth it though as once it was clean I realised I now had the perfect -non stuck in the garage- hidey hole for my sewing things.

After going through all the things I don't wear I decided to re-purpose some of my old things into new pretty things for Miss Kayla (who has been a major grumpy all week).

I bought this dress just after Noah was born and then wore it all through the next two pregnancies plus in-between. So basically it's been a stable of mine for over 4 years. Pretty good for a $10 dress.

Then I was in the sewing zone so I ended up making another dress from a maternity tshirt. (I get a bit of a kick out of the fact that Kayla now has two dresses made from clothes I wore will pregnant with her.)

Tshirt Make Over.

Hey Miss Liz, Remember that grey tshirt I convinced you to chuck out and then stole all those years ago?

There's a chair in there.

A whole heap of rubbish and a trip to the lifeline bin.

The garage clean out is going well.
Granted I've added even more to both my craft to do list and my shopping list (seriously can you ever have enough storage?)

But the most exciting part of the day?

I started to makeover my sewing chair.

I have photo's on my phone, but no way to upload them.

Perhaps I USB cord for my phone should be added to the never ending list.

So anyway. Hopefully tommorrow will see the completion of project #1.

Create.

Reading over at 3 Sheets has me all inspired. I had all ready been thinking about all the new things I'm going to do once we finally move (speaking of which actually applying for somewhere would properly help things along.) I had decided that we needed new artwork and my favorite kinda is the budget homemade kind. Now I've decided that new 'big boy' quilts are in order for the young men of the family and a nice one for my bed wouldn't go astray either.

And then after I've been all creative like, I could walk around like this.

Create.

A little bit of creativity on a Sunday night.

I bought this fabric on my Spotlight adventure a few weeks ago with the intention of making a cushion for Miss Kayla's bedroom.

But changed my mind when I found this tutorial.

Now our lovely stroller has a liner. Hopefully it will stay slightly cleaner this way.

Oopps.

One of my favorite wedding gifts was a set of insanely beautiful sheets. They are the perfect kind that get softer every time you wash them. Even three years later I still get excited about using them. Although they still feel fantastic they were starting to look a bit discoloured.

   

So on Wednesday during my Spotlight adventure I decided to grab some fabric dye and refresh my favourite sheets. I also decided to be adventures.I purposely chose 'flamingo pink' thinking it would be a fun way to add a little colour to the room. Having never dyed anything as large as a sheet before I didn't even stop to think about what would be involved. It was to big. There wasn't enough dye. Or water. Or room to stir it around to make sure it was being evenly covered.

The result.

It's adventurous and it's colourful.

Kinda psychedelic don't ya think?

Excitment.

I can feel it calling me.

The almost over whelming urge to create something, paint and redecorate.

I love it when I get this feeling.

You just know something fun is going to happen.

And it's going to happen soon.

I have many more important things to do this week.

But it doesn't matter.

I have very little self control. the desire to create will win in the end.

The best solution?

Rush through the mornings housework, cancel todays play-date and load the kids up for an adventure involving Spotlight, the Lifeline super store and Bunnings.

I'm not crazy. I know the kids are not going to enjoy this trip, but i can't help it. 

Besides i will find a project for them as well.

It's going to be a fantastic day.
